Thomas Built Buses is a leading bus manufacturer in North America, offering a full line of school, commercial, specialty, childcare and activity buses to value-minded buyers. More than one-third of the school buses on the road today are Thomas Built Buses.
Thomas Built manufacturing facilities, located in High Point, North Carolina, produce three different types of buses: Type C conventional, Type D transit-style for longer routes and increased seating capacity, and the smaller Type A.
In 2009, Thomas launched its new MyBus® Type A product, specifically designed for childcare and activity centers, service organizations and churches. MyBus is available in three models: the SRW, DRW 041 and DRW 051.
The company was founded in 1916 by Perley A. Thomas, who began renovating and building streetcars. In 1936, the company began producing school buses. Today, that same dedication to building the most reliable, safest vehicles possible has made Thomas Built a leader in the industry.
Thomas Built's proud tradition of innovative engineering isn't a coincidence. Decade after decade, Thomas has followed one simple philosophy: design and build the kind of school or activity bus we'd want our own children to ride.
